In this two session course, you will learn how to hand quilt as well as prepare and apply binding to create a small quilt for yourself or to give as a gift. We will cover traditional hand-quilting using small stitches, as well as "big stitch" quilting using Pearl cotton and a larger needle.

Materials and tools required:

- 1 yard each of front and backing fabrics
- 1/2 yard fabric for binding
- cotton or wool batting at least 36x43 inches
- matching cotton hand quilting thread
- quilting/between needles
- contrasting thread for basting
- thimble
- large embroidery hoop (12" recommended)

Class meets Tuesdays, November 3rd and 10th, 6-9pm

Skill Level: Beginner - this class will focus on hand-stitching techniques suitable for beginners, however you will need to know how to operate a sewing machine as it will be used in applying our bindings.
