In this four week course, you will learn how to make a quilt with a pieced top. We'll explore quilt design using squares and half square triangles. The first two classes will cover layout, cutting, and piecing techniques to complete your quilt top. The third class will cover preparing your "quilt sandwich" and machine quilting and we'll end with binding your quilts.

Classes take place on Saturdays from 2:30 - 4:30pm, beginning January 9th and concluding January 30th. (February 6th will be reserved as a make-up day should we need to cancel a session.) An additional 4 hours of studio time may be used as needed to work on your project. The finished quilt size is up to you and dependent on your level of sewing experience.

Materials and tools required:

- minimum of 2 choices of quilting cotton for your pieced quilt top
- quilting cotton for backing and binding
- cotton or wool batting
- cotton thread for piecing and quilting
- hand stitching needle to complete binding
- contrasting thread for basting
Recommended: Binding clips, curved safety pins for basting
